Snowdance

Snowdance, a rare white buffalo calf,  made her appearance on the morning of July 27 on the
farm of Guy and Chris Sterling just outside of Cedar Lake, NY.   Born to a young 3-year old cow
who couldn't defend her baby from the threats of one of the bulls,  only Guy's quick and brave
actions saved Snowdance from being fatally injured.   You'll be able to read his hair-raising
account when the Sterlings put their own website on-line sometime in early 2008.

For now, I'm sure you'll enjoy these photos of this wonderful little one whose miraculous birth
offers hope to all of us. Click on the image to see a larger view.

The two photos on the left show her at about 1 week old. The one on the right is the one I took
when I went to meet her. She was about 6 weeks old at that point.
November Update:
Snowdance is receiving many visitors, welcoming all with gentle regard in her dark eyes and
usually allowing people to brush her fuzzy forehead where little horns are already showing
through. Her white coat has changed to black which may return to its first white as she
matures. This would be in keeping with the legend of
White Buffalo Calf Woman's story.
